Main Attractions- Thurs, Dec 2 - Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Monthly Screening, 7pm
The screen of the UWM Union Theatre will be illuminated with the glory that is Sally Potter's Academy Award-nominated "Orlando," her adaptation of Virginia Woolf's antic fantasia about gender and history and herstory, presented in 35mM. Starring Tilda Swinton and featuring Quentin Crisp as Queen Elizabeth.

Wed-Sun, Dec 8-12 - Mainstage Series: Lovers' Quarrels, Wed-Sat at 7:30pm; Sun at 2pm, Mainstage Theatre
Molière's second full-length play in verse, "Lovers' Quarrels" is a complex comedy animated by deception and misunderstanding. In a new translation by Richard Wilbur misinformation, mistaken identities, and manipulation abound in 17th Century Parisian society. Don't miss the reconciliation experienced by all at the end of this tour de force. Director: Bill Watson.

Thurs-Sun, Dec 9-12 - New Dancemakers: In the Flesh, 5, 7 and 9pm on Thurs-Sat; 12, 2 and 4pm on Sun, Mitchell Hall 254
A festival atmosphere surrounds the 25 undergraduate choreographers working on the themes of gender and identity. Choreographers explore these themes through their refined understanding of their bodies and prepared to wear their emotions sleeveless. Our biggest blowout round of one hour performances ever, New Dancemakers: In the Flesh points to introspection and invention.
$12 general/$10 seniors, faculty and alumni/$8 students

Performance, installation, sculpture and screen-based work from students in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Technology Program.

Thurs-Thurs, Dec 2-16 - Yevgeniya Kaganovich and Nathaniel Stern: Moving Spaces, Opening reception December 2, 5-7pm, Art History Gallery (Mitchell Hall)
Faculty members Kaganovich and Stern offer a site-specific and large-scale collaboration of concrete, fishing line and other materials, curated and with text by Jennifer Johung.

Since 1996, Michael Sarff and Tim Whidden have partnered as MTAA, incorporating participatory performances, group installations, aesthetic decision by popular vote and creative collaborations into their worked.

ElizaBeth Johnson, faculty member and Artistic Director of Your Mother Dances, presents "In a Black Mood," a reprise of Your Mother Dances' successful summer premiere at the Minnesota Fringe Festival in Minneapolis. All dances, costumed in some variation of black, explore unabashed emotional intensity as well as subtler, moods--darker sentiments alongside holiday cheer.

Tues, Dec 7 - Land Marked/Marquette & The Indian Boundary Line, 7pm, UWM Union Theatre
Chicago musician and filmmaker Thomas Comerford has been at work on a series of quietly-observed films that contemplate the entwined social, political, and environmental histories of Chicago. Comerford will be presenting two of those works; these well-crafted visual and audio juxtapositions carefully probe the past and the present, conjuring a sincere "document of documents."

Fri, Dec 3 - Symphony and University Band, 7:30pm, Helen Bader Concert Hall
The UWM University Band (conducted by Graduate Conducting Associates Nicholas Castonguay, Michael Neumeyer, Krystal Solum, and Rosemary Walzer) and the UWM Symphony Band (conducted by Scott R. Corley) perform works for symphonic wind band that allude to or were inspired by the Earth's natural forces, including the Wisconsin Premiere of "Tidal Forces" by Michael Markowski.
$12 general/$10 seniors, faculty and alumni/$8 non-UWM students/FREE for UWM students w/ I.D.
