Marcus Center's Off Broadway Series Announces PACKER FANS FROM OUTER SPACE, 6/7-7/22

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts announces that it will produce Packer Fans from Outer Space this summer, June 7-July 22, in Vogel Hall as part of its Off Broadway Series. It is the world's very first (and only) Science Fiction Football Musical Comedy! Tickets go on sale Friday, April 20 at 12:00 p.m. 

Packer Fans From Outer Space follows the exploits of Door County Packer Fan and apple farmer Harvey Keister. Harvey is called upon by a group of Packer aliens to save their planet from the evil Space Bears. Marge, his Chicago Bears-loving wife, fears for his sanity. Packer Fans is filled with songs that refer to the storied Packer-Bear rivalry, including "You Gotta Hate the Bears" and "Winning is the Only Thing."   

Packer Fans From Outer Space features book and lyrics by Frederick Heide and Lee Becker. The music is by Frederick Heide with additional music by James Kaplan. The world premier production was presented by, American Folklore Theatre in June 2002.

Performances for Packer Fans From Outer Space will take place at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in Vogel Hall. A preview performance will be held on June 7 with opening night on June 8. Performances continue through July 22. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more by calling 414-273-7121 ext. 210. The cast and crew is made up of Milwaukee area talent including: Bill Theisen, Rhonda Rae Busch, Beth Mulkerron, Norman Moses, Paul Helm, Josh Krausse, Thomas Novak, and Ryan Cappleman. The director is Jenny Wanasek, Music Director is Paul Helm and the Stage Manager is Sarah Hoffman.
