Milwaukee Repertory Theater is delighted to announce that Aaron Posner returns to The Rep to direct A Christmas Carol, performed annually at the historic Pabst Theater. Posner directed The Rep's To Kill a Mockingbird, which broke all-time attendance records last season, as well as the lyrical, beautifully-realized production of My Name is Asher Lev in 2010. This will be the first time that Posner has directed A Christmas Carol at Milwaukee Rep.

For 2012 the role of Ebenezer Scrooge will be performed by accomplished actor Christopher Donahue, who has worked with Posner on several occasions before. Donahue has extensive regional and New York theater credits. Credits include: the Broadway production of Metamorphoses as Midas; Off-Broadway in Measure for Measure (NYSF; as the Provost); The Notebooks of Leonardo DaVinci (Second Stage; as Leonardo); The Arabian Nights (Manhattan Theatre Club; as Shahryar); Dogeaters (Public Theatre; as Fassbinder et al.) and the world premiere of Neal Bell's Monster as the Creature, for which he received an Obie Award. Regionally he has performed with Lookingglass Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Huntington Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Remains Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse, among many others. On film and television, he has appeared on All My Children, The Big Kahuna, Since You've Been Gone and Law and Order.

Now in its 37th year, The Rep's production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, proudly sponsored by MillerCoors, is Milwaukee's beloved holiday tradition which has delighted audiences for generations. Adapted by Joseph Hanreddy and Edward Morgan, Dickens' classic masterpiece brightens the holiday season with its beautiful carols and timeless message of hope, peace and love and the true meaning of the holidays.
